[LbNA] Way to go!

From: CLARK Cara D (cara.d.clark@co.multnomah.or.us) | Date: 1999-07-19 09:16:00 UTC-07:00
Wow! It seems that we are really getting alot of boxes out there to be
found! The numbers just keep growing by the day. I went out on Saturday
after work and found Mitch's Mt. Tabor box! That was alot of fun. I've been
trying to learn to use a compass for a long time, and 'tho it's not hard,
Letterboxing has inspired me to keep practising. I found the specific tree
where the box was hidden right away, but I didn't believe it was the right
one. I didn't want to put my arm deep into the dark recesses of the hollow
tree, and so I found a stick and waved it around inside, hoping to hear the
hollow "plunk" of the stick hitting tupperware...to no avail. So I searched
around for another half hour until i realized that there were no other trees
that fit the clues. I'm glad I found the stamp! Could someone please send
me a link to the main letterbox page? I can't seem to find it when I look
for it on the web, and I don't have any of my lovely info sheets with me.
Thank You, Cara

I just want to say that our Web site looks FANTASTIC!!!! Wow! Thanks to all

Cara,
You're not the only one who's had trouble finding our website. I've
submitted it three times to all the major search engines, to no avail. To
make matters worse, there is still a long-forgotten page called Letterboxing
USA floating around out there that is not being updated with new clues (but
it DOES show up on the search engines)

It's probably a good idea to remind everyone from time to time that our
current website is called Letterboxing North America. As Thom points out,
the main page can presently be found at
http://members.aol.com/catsdice/lbna/clues

Depending on various logistics and technical issues, however, this could
someday change again. The safest bet is to send people to
www.letterboxing.org

Bonnie:
Be sure to let Tom Cooch and I know when you are travelling thru VT (do
you have a specific date yet?) - we both love to get together!

(P6-F1, also embarrassed)

ps - by then, I to have some swimmer's letterboxes out, (altho
they will work for waders as well), or I'll be REALLY embarrassed!

I agree with Mitch - it is what I always tell people, as it is easy for
them (and for me) to remember. Which is why we got it in the first
place.

I am so proud of those of us in the mid-atlantic region. Things are really
happening down here. Thanks for all the new boxes, it's good to not be the
only one anymore.
For those of you in areas where it seems like there are no other
letterboxers, I would like to encourage you to start hiding boxes like crazy.
It is just as challenging to hide them as it is to find them and just as much
fun. It is true that if you hide enough then others will show up. And when
they do it will be your boxes they are finding and you will get lots of
wonderful feedback. So be the johnny appleseed of your area and plant those
stamps. It is worth it.
